VR3DObjects is a simple application that illustrates ways of using the QuickTime VR API. VR3DObjects uses Apple's QuickDraw 3D to provide support for 3D objects in a panorama. You can import 3DMF (QuickDraw 3D's file format) files and view them in the pano. The objects are placed at the center of the pano, so many objects will be right on top of the viewer, but a few have been included here which show up well. Additionally you can texture map a Quicktime movie onto the default plane in the pano.
In order to run this demo you will need to install QuickDraw 3D (included on this CD-ROM), which only works on PowerMacs. After launching the application, open a pano from the file menu, then either open 3DMF model or a QuickTime movie and see what happens.
Thanks to Viewpoint Datalabs, Model Masters and Zygote for the 3DMF models.
